 Chinnorleigh Kitten Sales Agreement - 2009 (example).

All new Chinnorleigh kitten/cat owners will be asked to sign a 'Pet Sales Agreement' prior to the purchase of their new kitten/cat & only once they have thoroughly read, understood & agree to be bound by it's terms & conditions. Many pedigree pet breeders have similar sales agreements (some are adapted to suit a particular breed) & these agreements are in place to protect the breeder/seller, the buyer & especially the health, happiness & the future welfare of the pet which will ultimately assist to protect the future of the breed.

The Chinnorleigh Kitten Sales Agreement will be accompanied with a Kitten Care Sheet detailing how your new kitten/cat has been reared & how to continue the care of your new kitten/cat.

As all Chinnorleigh kittens/cats are neutered before they leave home I have no need for a 'Neutering Agreement.' The pink 'GCCF Registration Slip' will be given to the new owner on the day of collection of their new kitten/cat. If I have not received the 'Registration Slip' prior to the kitten leaving (as this can sometimes happen) I may provide the new owner with the GCCF blue transfer form or will forward the 'Registration Slip' onto the new owner once I have received it from the GCCF office.

Any breeders whether feline or canine that feel any of the points mentioned in my pet sales agreement would assist in their own pet sales agreement then please feel free to copy them, I just ask that you would please be courteous & forward me a short email with details on how it has assisted you, thank you.

PET SALES AGREEMENT

between Mrs. Deborah Lancashire (herein after called 'the seller') & .................................................................... (herein after called 'the buyer'). The seller will sell & the buyer will buy the kitten/cat described below (herein after called 'the kitten/cat') :-

Your new kitten/cat has been bred & reared with the utmost love & care to every detail. Every effort has been made to ensure that your kitten/cat is healthy in body & mind & is sold subject to it being understood that as a living creature it is impossible to predict its future development. Your kitten/cat would have been vet checked fit & healthy prior to sale & you are advised to register your new kitten/cat with your own vet within 48 hours of purchase.

This sales agreement has been drawn up to protect the health, happiness & future welfare of all Chinnorleigh Ragdoll cats & kittens & to also protect the Ragdoll breed as a whole.

Before signing this agreement please read the 'Obligations of the Buyer' carefully & that you have understood & are happy with each point. You should not buy this kitten/cat or sign this agreement unless you intend to be bound by its terms.

Prior to sale you have examined the kitten/cat & are happy & satisfied with its health & condition.


OBLIGATIONS OF THE BUYER:


  1. This kitten/cat is sold as an indoor pet & the buyer agrees that the kitten/cat will not be allowed to free roam.
  2. All reasonable care should be taken for the kitten/cats well being at all times; in the case of an accident or illness veterinary advice should be sought immediately.
  3. The kitten/cat will be sold with a 4 week Pet Plan insurance cover, it is recommended that this insurance is continued for the life of the kitten/cat.
  4. The buyer agrees that the kitten/cat shall not be shown in any competitive cat show, unless agreed to by the seller.                            Show Approval: yes / no
  5. If show approval is given, the seller can take no responsibility should the kitten/cat fail to succeed as a show kitten/cat.
  6. Any change in the buyers circumstances which would mean the rehoming of the kitten/cat must be brought to the sellers attention. If it is impractical for the seller to take back the kitten/cat, a new pet home must be agreed by the seller in writing, who will supply a new pet sales agreement for the new owners to sign. This agreement must be returned to the seller before the new owner takes possession of the kitten/cat. This is to protect the welfare of the kitten/cat at all times.
  7. In the event of any of the terms of this agreement being breached, the seller shall have the right to repossess the kitten/cat & to be reimbursed by the reasonable costs of such repossession, such costs to include travel expenses, cost of upkeep of the kitten/cat for a period of 2 months after repossession & any legal costs, veterinary fee's inc. blood tests for FeLV/FIV.
  8. In the event of the kitten/cat being repossessed by the seller, the buyer acknowledges that no monies by way of compensation or otherwise would be due to him or her.
  9. This agreement shall be interpreted in accordance with the law in England & Wales & any disputes arising under it shall be submitted to the exclusion Jurisdiction of the Courts in England & Wales.
